MTD Connect

Small firms were paying per client for HMRC-recognised VAT filing. Prepaid credits and multi-client agent filing removed the per-seat penalty.

The problem

Making Tax Digital made VAT filing mandatory through recognised software, and the market priced it per client per month. For a firm filing quarterly for forty small clients, that is a standing cost for software used twelve times a year. Firms responded by keeping spreadsheets and bridging manually, which is exactly what MTD was meant to stop.

The approach

A prepaid credit model instead of a subscription: you pay for the filings you make. Agents get a single dashboard across every client they act for, with spreadsheet bridging for the firms that legitimately still work that way. Built against the live HMRC API rather than a re-seller layer.

Who built it

MTD Connect was founded and built by Abdul Rehman Sandhu, a qualified accountant and technology advisor working with businesses globally. The same diagnostic approach behind this venture is the one applied in client engagements.
